Christmas 24h readathon announcement πŸ“•πŸ“—

6

Dear reader,

I am finally back with another 24h readathon! I have been hosting some over the years and always had so much fun. The last one I hosted was back in July and it was the most amazing experience ever: I read so much and so many people joined. And as I love the Christmas holidays so, so much, I decided to make it even more fun…

And that’s why I decided to host another very festive 24h readathon!

β₯Β WHEN WILL IT TAKE PLACE?

The readathon will be on Sunday the 22nd of December, a few days before Christmas, starting at midnight on the 22nd and ending at midnight on the 23rd. I thought it’ll be the perfect relaxing Sunday for us all! (Also, I know I wrote “Christmas” everywhere on this blog post but this readathon is more about the end of the year holidays/winter than anything. Whatever you celebrate, whatever you feel like reading, if you ever want to read about New Years Eve or anything that feels wintery etc, please suit yourself!)

β₯Β WHAT IS THE GOAL?

The goal is simple: if you read one page during those 24 hours, then you won! Please do not put any pressure on yourself. I won’t be reading for 24 hours straight as I want to do many Christmassy/Wintery activities and, well, also to sleep. Plus it doesn’t matter how much your read, I promise!

β₯Β HOW WILL WE COMMUNICATE?

I’ll be sharing everything on my Instagram via Instagram stories, in which I will also share my tradition readathon templates which I did last time! You’ll be able to track your reading and share it with all of us thanks to it.

I also decided to add some challenges for the day, mostly for myself because I too created some challenges during the Gilmoreathon (which I wasn’t hosting) and it made it all even more perfect! If you feel like doing them, then please join me! Here are the challenges:

  • Drink a hot beverage,
  • Watch a cheesy Christmas/wintery movie,
  • Read next to a fireplace (or play an ASMR fireplace like I will),
  • Eat a Christmas/wintery snack,
  • Listen to a festive song.

And that’s all!

Will you join me? Do you do 24h readathon?

Love always,

Clara

  1. I’m the absolute worst at forcing myself to read if I’m not in the mood which is why I always fail at readathons BUT I had serious fomo when you hosted the last one. So Imma try my best and try participate this time : )

  2. YES! This time I’m joining!
I’m waiting for my first ever Harry Potter book to come in the mail, hopefully tomorrow (!) , and the first one in the series that I’ll be reading. Since I’m not a β€œreader” I’m not sure how far I will be on dec 22nd, so I’ll definitely be reading that one I think. Also I’ll be on the train to my hometown, which takes about 5 h so I’ll buy a Christmas latte and have lots of time to read on the way! βœ¨πŸŽ„

  3. Yes, I’ll definitely join you! I love how flexible the readathon is! My classes end on the 19th before Christmas break but I’m only going home on the 23rd. I think reading the whole day before going home (or at least most of the day, since I also have to study !) seems like the perfect way to spend it πŸ˜€

  4. Sounds lovely, I’m in! I should have some free time left on the 22nd to do some cozy reading before hitting the road on the 23rd. All challenges are doable for me, except the fireplace as we live in the tropics and couldn’t do with even more heat πŸ˜‰
