Dear reader,
I have always been someone who loved the rain. I have so many amazing memories with it, but especially with my grandma who passed away almost a year ago. She was the only person in my family who loved the rain as much as I do and we would always curl up together next to her fire place with a big blanket and a cup of hot chocolate. She would always say that we were the same person because of it, and I have never stopped loving the rain.
Unlike many people I even like being outside when it’s raining. It sure can be annoying but I love the sound and the smell of it – as long as I have an umbrella I am totally okay with it. Obviously I prefer being indoors, so that’s why I’ll present you today my five favourite things to do on a rainy day.
❥ WATCHING YOUTUBE/TV SHOWS
Obviously rain means chilling at home and the first thing I love to do when it’s pouring outside it’s to turn on Netflix or YouTube. I can even decide to watch a movie with my family and since we have a home cinema in our living room it makes the whole thing even cozier. I just have to grab some pop corn and a cup of tea and I’m good to go for the day! Only writing about me already makes me super happy.
❥ READING
As I mostly talk about books online it was to be expected of me to say that I love to read while it’s raining outside. I can already picture myself curl up in my bed with a good book and a latte… If only I could live in that moment right now. Honestly, doesn’t the rain make everything better and cozier?!
❥ WRITING
I haven’t written anything in months but writing has always been a huge part of my life and I always adored writing while it was raining outside. Weirdly most of the novels I write are never happening in very sunny places and writing while it’s pouring outside always makes it easier for me to picture the scene I’m currently working on.
❥ BULLET JOURNALING
I always tried to keep a bullet journal but only succeeded this year to it. I don’t know what I would do without mine today. It helps me keep track of everything I read, everything I watch but also all my habits and more. It keeps me organised and it definitely is my life saver. Obviously I do like to spend some time on it, though my pages are always super minimalistic. But picturing myself organising the week to come while the rain is falling makes me feel so peaceful.
❥ BAKING
Finally, here’s a thing I always loved to do but don’t do often: baking. Weirdly enough I once considered becoming a baker, but I’m not that talented or passionate. I still love to bake some cookies or else during my free time, especially with my brother and sister. For example we baked peanut butter and chocolate chips cookies for our Halloween night and it was amazing. It’s always a great activity to bond with your friends or your family, and the smell of baked goodies while you can hear the sound of the rain… You have to admit it’s pretty cool.
This blog post is dedicated to my grandma, who I miss every day and love more than anything in the world, even more than the rain.
Now tell me, what are some of your favourite activities to do while it’s raining? I’ll make sure to write a blog post about the sunny weather as well!
Love always,
Clara
This is such a lovely post, Clara ❤ I'm not a fan of rainy days, unless they're spent inside. On these times, I do love to curl up with a cup of tea and a good book, too! 🙂 ❤

I love writing on rainy days as well! I’m not always a huge fan of the rain because it can be pretty inconvenient and ruin a lot of plans, but I love it when it rains heavily (especially in the evenings) and I have a whole to do what I want. I love lighting my candles, turning my fariylights on and the main lights off and sit and read and write with a hot chocolate! 😊🎧📷📚💻

A beautiful post!
Kind of like what you mentioned, I definitely prefer being inside during a rainstorm. There’s something about the way the rain hits the window that’s so relaxing and soothing. And, most of my rainy-day activities are very similar to yours! Plus, a candle or a face-mask thrown in really matches the mood for me ❤
