My May TBR, or How I’m Planning on Getting Back to Reading πŸ“šπŸŒ·

Dear reader,

As you know, I haven’t been reading a lot lately. I used to be an extremely fast reader but I always thought reading was like a muscle – you have to train it, or you’ll lose your speed. Well, that’s what happened to me because I’ve been reading less and less, and therefor I am not the fast reader I used to be.

To try to get back into reading, I made myself a May TBR. Without further ado, here it is!

β₯ Finish my current read

My first mission will be to finish my current read, which will probably be done by the time you read this. It’s a collection of short stories based after the events of a series I read recently. I thought it was a new full story, turns out it wasn’t, so I haven’t been going back to it a lot but it’ll be done soon.

β₯ Book Lovers by Emily Henry

I received an e-ARC of Book Lovers a few months ago and can’t believe I still haven’t read it. To be fair, even though People We Meet on Vacation was my favourite read of 2021, I didn’t enjoy Beach Read as much and I’m worried this new book will be closer in themes to the last one. But I’m excited to dive into a new Emily Henry romance and cannot wait to really see what it’s about!β₯

β₯ Rivals by Katharine McGee

Again, another e-ARC I haven’t touched yet. I loved the first book when it came out but the second one disappointed me, even more when I learnt it was the last one to ever come out. I guess lots of people complained because by then the author announced a new book in the series, and I’m so glad I get to get back to those characters. These books aren’t my favourites but they are so entertaining and fun! I’m guessing it’ll be easy to go through.

β₯ Book of Night by Holly Black

I waited a long while for this one and I cannot wait to discover what Holly Black did this time. I don’t really know what it’s about, but I know enough to get excited. It’s fantasy, so it probably be more difficult to get into, but I’m reading to get back to this genre, which used to be my favourite in the past.

β₯ From Lukov With Love by Mariana Zapata

This is the one I’m the least sure I’ll get to, but I really want to. A friend of mine read it recently and only said good things about it. I trust her judgment and the themes of this romance seemed to be right up my alley, so let’s see!

β₯ The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

I’ve been meaning to read this one for a while, especially because one of my friends adore it and we tend to love the same books. I have no idea what it’s about, I’m guessing it’s fantasy and I simply cannot wait to dive into it!

β₯ The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares (re-read)

Finally I want to re-read the first book in this series because I recently re-watched the movies and they always bring me so much comfort. I love those books with all my heart and I need a fictional hug from my favourite group of friends.

And that’s it!

What are you planning on reading this month? Do you have a TBR?

Love always,

Clara
