❥ My review
I’m not someone who reads tons of thrillers, but I do like to pick one every so often. When I was asked to join the blog tour of Even If We Break, I thought it would be the perfect occasion to kick off the spooky season.
I gave this book 3 stars, which means I would definitely recommend it. It was a solid YA thriller with lots of different point of views which help you cover every parts of the story. It’s one thing I actually really enjoyed, how we could switch of characters – it felt like watching a movie, which made it even more scarier.
Obviously I was scared, but I always am whenever I read horror or thriller novels. But, it’s weirdly something I enjoy, so I don’t mind being frightened. This one did the trick for me, though I said I get scared easily while reading, and I remember being on the metro, having to look behind me every two seconds because I was too worried suddenly.
Though Even If We Break didn’t take my breath away and even though I guessed who was behind this sordid story before it was revealed, I still thought this book was a lot of fun. Honestly, if you’re looking for a quick YA thriller to get your spooks on, definitely consider this one. It’s easy to follow, it’s entertaining and thrilling as well. You won’t get bored, that’s for sure.
Overall, this book has a very diverse cast of characters (more on the “is this book for you?” infographic at the end), an easy writing style to read, a suspenseful story, a creepy setting and a broken group of friends. Nothing better to start October with, right?
