Three books to read this Summer | Part I: To read on the beach πŸ–πŸŒŠ

Dear reader,

I have been recommending you books depending on seasons for a whole year now. For summer 2019 I recommended you fantasy books but also contemporary and classics. I kept doing so through autumn, winter and spring, sometimes going outside of genres and recommending you books based on certain situations or moods, such as books to read on a snow day and all of that.

I’m back with summer recommendations, but this time we’re starting with three books to read on the beach!

β₯Β Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo

Clap When You Land is a contemporary novels told in verse. It’ll be easy to go through, especially if you listen to the audiobook (which is amazing) and will make your days spent on the beach even more peaceful. I fell in love with this book as soon as it came out (and would highly recommend any Elizabeth Acevedo’s books) and know you will too.

β₯ There’s Something About Sweetie by Sandhya Menon

If you are like me (and I know we are a lot to struggle with this) and you dislike your body, especially during summer (welcome to my life with an eating disorder), then this book will feel like a hug and will empower you while laying on the beach. From what I saw of own voices reviews, the fat rep in There’s Something About Sweetie is incredible, and even though I know I am not fat this book made me feel so much better about myself. All bodies are beach bodies, and I hope you’ll realize it while reading the sweetest YA romance there is out there.

β₯Β Nocturna by Maya Montayne

Finally, I could not not recommend my favourite of 2020. Funnily enough, Nocturna was on my 2019 summer TBR but I only read it this year because, you know, are we really book people if we read the books on our TBRs? Anyway, this book is easy to read, so perfect to have on the beach, and will transport you in a magical universe you won’t want to get out of. I highly recommend you to pick it up.

And that’s all!

What books would you recommend to read on the beach?

Love always,

Clara
