During lockdown I, obviously, had more time. I ended up having so much time that I managed to read 30 books in April (a blog post about this is coming soon, I promise) and that I discovered new hobbies, hobbies which I wouldn’t see myself without today.
Without further ado, here are my new favourite hobbies.
This is by far my new favourite thing ever, and I wish I had more time to dedicate to it now that I’m back in the swing of life (kinda). I fell head to toes in love with journaling while being in lockdown. It was hard to start because I’m a perfectionist, but once I got it, once I sat down, stopped thinking and allowed myself to make mistakes, it just became easy. I try to journal at least once a week. I don’t necessary write about my days or anything. Sometimes I don’t write anything at all and simply do a collage. It just lets me be myself, to express myself and to document my life.
❥ WORKING OUT
I don’t know if this is a hobby or anything, but it’s something I started doing seriously during lockdown and which is now part of my routine. I changed my working out plans several times (I started only doing apartment bike, then walking on a treadmill, then running, then doing fitness exercices and so on). I now know that I adore walking on the treadmill and that doing fitness exercices at least three times a week is a good way to feel better about myself.
Finally, I discovered meditating. I started having to do it while at the hospital and I always hated it because I always focused on the negative while being silent and it always made me anxious. I’m not doing it every day now, but I force myself to do so every time in a while and to exercice myself to truly relax. It helped me calm down so, so much (a friend of mine had me on FaceTime hours after I meditated and noticed how calm I was haha) and overall is helping me every day to handle my stress level. I simply follow YouTube videos and breathe for a bit.
And that’s it!
