My favourite ASMR sounds to play while reading ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŽง

Dear reader,

I have always been able to listen to music while reading. To be honest, it has never occurred to me that I could ever be bothered by it. There are some things I can’t listen to while reading, such asย Hamilton because I’ll usually only want to focus on it, but otherwise anything in my ears is okay, no matter the ambiance it creates. However, I do that when I’m outside, so when I’m at home I don’t usually put music on.

Last year I discovered the joy of ASMR rooms and it changed my reading life forever. That’s why I wanted to tell you all about my favourite ASMR sounds to play while reading!

Last year I discovered a few YouTube channel which create ASMR but forย Harry Potter rooms. For example, you can be immersed in the kitchen of the Burrow or in the Great Hall, and so on. You can find some on ASMR weekly but my favourite is ASMR rooms. Of course there are many more online! You usually have the sounds, but also a visual, because the people behind those accounts are real artists!

I’ve also tried some weather sounds over the months. For example during Winter I loved to read with the sound of a fireplace and a snow storm. I also love to study with the sound of the rain and of a library. The possibilities are endless and you can find anything on YouTube!

Finally I very recently discovered the free app called Tide, which allows you to listen to waves, rain or a calming music for different purposes. You can listen to it to focus on your work (and put it on work mode with break added), but also to meditate or even to sleep. I have been trying to work with the waves sound and to study with the storm sound recently, and it does help me to focus a lot.

That’s all!

Do you listen to anything while reading? Have you ever tried this type of ASMR?

Love always,

Clara

  1. My sister just introduced me to the HP common room ASMR videos on YT & I’m SO SAD I didn’t discover them sooner! Unfortunately I can’t study or read with music, I just can’t focus (unless it’s KPOP in which case I can’t understand the words so it isn’t a problem ๐Ÿ˜‚) but ASMR/lo-fi playlists are perfect!

    Awesome recommendations!! ๐Ÿ˜
