My favourite hobbies that aren’t reading πŸ–€

Dear reader,

I know this blog is mostly dedicated to books, and I do love reading more than anything in the world. I take pictures of books, I write reviews, I look for new releases, I track my reading and so on… But I do have other hobbies, just like anyone does, and I really wanted to write a blog post about it for once.

Without further ado, here are three of my favourite hobbies that aren’t reading!

(For full disclosure, this post is being sponsored by Skillshare.)

β₯Β TAKING PICTURES

I believe that most people who follow me here know that I am actually a bookstagrammer, and therefor take pictures of books for Instagram. I always loved photography and started this account a few years ago really changed me. I don’t ever see myself stopping in the near future because I truly love taking new pictures, trying new things and seeing myself getting better at it. I’m not perfect at it but I did evolve ever since I started, and I can’t wait to learn new things.

β₯Β WRITING

I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. I wrote tons of books when I was a child, short stories too, before jumping into fanfictions (I mostly wrote dramiones but also wrote some fanfictions aboutΒ the Hunger Games andΒ One Direction). I’ve been trying to write two different novels ever since but have been lacking of time, which makes me really sad because I miss it every day. I try to write on my blog to at least keep me active, which is something I really love to do too. I would love to start journaling too, but maybe on a Word document because I don’t want to make it artsy but only to write more and more.

β₯Β PLAYING GUITAR & SINGING

Finally, music has been a huge part of my life, and still is. My father had his own studio for years and was playing bass in a group, so I have always been surrounded by music. I started with piano then switched to guitar, which I really loved. I have always been singing too, in a choir at school and then in bands. I now only do it in my room but I love it endlessly and would never be able to live without music in my life.

And that’s all!

What are some of your hobbies that aren’t reading?

If you’re like me and are always looking for a new thing to learn, then I’m happy to share with you that I am officially an ambassador for Skillshare! I have been loving taking classes about writing (V.E. Schwab and Sabaa Tahir are on it!), photography and marketing too. I have a code for you all to get two free months which is “igamb3747” or you can simply follow this link!

Love always,

Clara

  1. I love this post! We definitely have to be versatile and have different kinds of hobbies. Mine are gaming, obsessively bingeing shows and bullet journalling.

  2. I knew that music was a big part of your life but how did I miss the part where you are a singer??? That’s so cool! I wish that I could sing. I mean I do sing, pretty much all the time, but while I want to sound like a Disney princess or Broadway star I actually sound like a wailing ghost. Lol! πŸ˜‰

  3. I would love to play guitar! I already play flute, saxophone and piano, but I always dream of playing guitar.
I also love taking photos since I am 6 (day I received my first camera). And of course I have my horse that I love more than anything 🌟

I really love your instragram and youtube, and here I finally am. Don’t know why it took me so long haha
    Have a nice day πŸŒŸπŸ’›

  4. This is really lovely, Clara! I also love photography but I don’t think I’m very good at it. I keep forgetting to take new pictures for bookstagram and it ends up being a mess πŸ˜› I’m not sure if this could be considered a hobby too, but I was very interested in trying embroidery. I started before coming to Germany but I didn’t bring my supplies with me and I hadn’t finished a single piece before coming either, I had only tried some lines and small random things in a long strip of fabric. I might pick it up again when I go home for Christmas and see if I truly enjoy it! Otherwise, my hobby will pretty much be only and forever reading πŸ˜›

      1. I definitely need to practise a LOT, but I really like it because it’s so quiet but I’m doing something with my hands. I’ve always enjoyed doing DIYs and things like that πŸ™‚ You should definitely try it! You don’t need all the fancy materials, I don’t even have a hoop or the appropriate fabric … I just practised on an old piece of fabric!

      2. Right now, nothing at all. I couldn’t bring any of my things with me, because I was having a bit of a problem with space in my bags xD I was starting out before I had to come here, so I had just done some basic stitches, some lines, and did my best trying to do a bee (it turned out cute, but super messy!). When I go back I wanna keep doing small drawings before I try to do something crazy big hahaha
