Halloween isn’t a big thing in France. It was a bit celebrated when I was a child because for years I dressed up with my sister and went trick or treating in our street. But times passed and now almost no one opens the door to children anymore, which is super sad. There aren’t tons of Halloween parties thrown either, whether it comes from friends or from pubs. Over the years I then learned how to celebrate by myself, as I always adored Halloween.
Without further ado, I give you my guide to throw yourself your own Halloween reading party!
20 minutes to create and a whole night to enjoy
❥ TOOLS AND MATERIALS
- Sweets, chocolates, cakes and pop corns (whatever you like, really)
- A book (it is a reading party after all)
- A computer or a phone
- A blanket and a ton of pillows
- A cup of tea
- Some candles
- Comfy clothings (or dress up!)
While the night if slowly falling, you need to prepare all the snacks. Go to your closest grocery shop, start baking whatever you want – you will need to have tons of chocolates and sweets close to you for this very special night. Don’t forget to make yourself a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate! Put everything on a tray and hand back to your room!
Now starts the fun! Take all the candles you can find and light them up. Be careful where you place them – you do not want to start a fire. You can turn on some fairy lights if you have some as well. The goal is to get the coziest atmosphere ever.
Put on your bed all the pillows and blankets you can find, and put on your pjs as well! (Or you could dress up too, if that’s your thing.)
Put the food tray on your bed, not too close not too far, hide yourself under all the covers, grab your computer and or phone to put on a spooky ASMR (my favourites are from ASMR Rooms) and… Read!
And that’s it! You can now enjoy your book while celebrating Halloween on your own.
Tell me: What will you do on Halloween’s night?
