Dear reader,
Let’s jump right in and end this series of blog posts dedicated to Mental Health Awareness Month with those five books I can’t wait to buy and to read which deals with mental health or a mental illness!
β₯ (Don’t) Call Me Crazy (anthology)
This book has been on my “to read” shelf on Goodreads ever since October 2017 and I still haven’t bought it and still haven’t read it. All I know about it is that it’s an amazing anthology written by some incredible authors which discuss what being crazy really means and what is hidden behind the idea of mental health. I already know this book is made for me, so I really have to take a decision and to finally buy it.

β₯ Four Weeks, Five PeopleΒ by Jennifer Yu
I added this book to my “to read” shelf in March 2018, a month before being diagnosed with OCD. I know I did it because one of my favourite book reviewers online, emmmabooks, loved it and wrote an amazing review about it. It basically deals with depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, anorexia, suicide, narcissistic personality disorder, borderline personality disorder and dissociative episodes – doesn’t it all sound super interresting and complex? I haven’t saw negative reviews about the representation yet, so I hope anyone who suffer from the above would see themselves in it.

β₯ Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes?Β by Holly Bourne
I bought this book before it even came out because it was being sold at YALC in London last year, and since I adore Holly Bourne I couldn’t say no. I even went to a work shop with her and we basically made some origami and shared positive messages hidden in them, which we then gave to people at the book fair. It was amazing to discuss mental health with her and I know this book will again make me the happiest. It talks about being kind in order to fight the cruelty of the world and obviously deals with mental health in general.

β₯ All the Things We Never saidΒ by Yasmin Rahman
I added this book to my “to read” shelf earlier this year because it deals with depression and anxiety, and because it has been talked and talked about by many UK reviewers I trust. I am so intrigued by this one and honestly can’t wait to pick it up. If I can find it this year at YALC in London I will definitely take it!

β₯ Eliza and Her MonstersΒ by Francesca Zappia
Finally, I had to go with a classic. I heard some mix reviews about this one but I still want to make my own opinion and to really see what it’s about. All I know is that it deals with anxiety and depression. I tried not to read a lot of reviews about it (though it’s hard because I love reading reviews)Β and I really can’t wait to see what it’s all about.

And that’s all!
Obviously there are many more books I want to read which talk about mental health, and obviously I won’t ever stop talking about this topic though May is coming to an end. But I thought it was a nice way to conclude this month!
What are some books with a mental health rep that you can’t wait to read? Or what was the last one you read?
Love always,
Clara

I read (Don’t) Call Me Crazy and it is as amazing as it sounds. I didn’t know I needed to read all these stories before I did, and it helped me a lot, especially this year. I hope it’ll help you too and that you will like it!
