April has been a long, fun and tiring month. A lot of things happened in my life, both bad and good, but I always got up and kept trying to do better, to be better. I am extremely proud of myself for everything I survived this month and recovered from, and can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for me.
Without further ado, here is my april wrap-up!
❥ WHAT I READ
April was the month of the OWL’s Readathon and I can now proudly say that I did read all the books I had to read in order to become a potioneer and enough books to get an Outstanding on my OWL’s. I had so much fun participating and I can’t wait for August and the NEWT’s Readathon.
Thanks to this readathon I ended up reading 10 books, which used to be my usual. I am now out of this weird semi-slump I was in and I couldn’t be happier.
Here is everything that I have read in April:
- The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black, 4/5 stars
- What’s a Girl Gotta Do? by Holly Bourne, 5/5 stars
- Willa of the Wood by Robert Beatty, 3/5 stars
- Juliet & Romeo by David Hewson, 3.5/5 stars
- Stars Wars: From a Certain Point of View (anthology), 4/5 stars
- The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman, 4/5 stars
- Again, but Better by Christine Riccio, 3.75/5 stars (ARC)
- The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White, 4.5/5 stars
- Mansfield Park by Jane Austen, 3.5/5 stars
- Eve of Man by Giovanna and Tom Fletcher, 2.5/5 stars
My favourite books of the month were What’s a Girl Gotta Do? and The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein, but I also had so much fun reading The Devouring Gray. Overall this month has been great when it comes to my reading life, though some books let me down, such as Eve of Man.
❥ WHAT I LOVED
- The OWL’s Readathon 2019
As I said, the Magical Readathon really made april so much better for me. I never had so much fun participating in a month long readathon before and I’m so happy I got so many of my friends doing it with me. I also shared everything on my Instagram stories (I have a highlight dedicated to it on my page) and it was even more amazing to be able to live this little adventure with so many of you. Even better, the readathon put me out of the semi-slump I was in ever since September and I am now back into my usual reading mode. (My wrap-up for the readathon will be online in a week.)
- Spending more time with my friends and family
As it was one of my goals I really tried to focus on my friends and on my family this month, and it has been amazing. I have had a lot of fun but also shared some meaningful talks. It really opened my eyes on who’s really important in my life and who I should keep caring about. I’m so lucky to be surrounded by such beautiful souls and I couldn’t be more grateful for every single person I have in my life.
- Avengers: Endgame
I have been a Marvel fan for almost all my life and I still can’t believe the second phase of the MCU is officially over. I went to see Avengers: Endgame with my best friend and her sister on its released day and it was everything to me. I won’t say what I thought of it, what I felt and I won’t post spoilers, but I just really loved it and I can’t wait to go see it again soon.
- Meeting Spider-Man
Obviously I went back to Disneyland Paris this month and as it is now the Superheroes season I got to meet Captain Marvel, but most importantly Spider-Man. It was everything and he even hugged me three times, which made everything even better. I know it may seems stupid but Peter Parker’s character have helped me a lot and I relate to him on a very personal level. I’m so glad I got to hug one of the most important “person” in my life this month.
❥ CHECKING ON MY MARCH GOALS
During March I wanted to save money, enjoy my time with my friends and family, keep studying and nailing the OWL’s readathon. I did almost everything on this list, except I haven’t really studied as much as I wanted. I think it was important for me to take a break and to focus on myself for once, so it’s not all bad.
❥ WHAT I WANT TO DO IN MAY
Here is what I want to keep focusing on during May:
- Saving more money,
- Enjoying more time with my friends and family,
- Getting back to studying,
- Reading at least 10 books.
And here we are! April was a busy but also relaxful month, and I’m weirdly happy about how it went.
How many books have you read last month? What made you happy? Tell me everything!
