Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again Book Tag

Dear reader,

I have been meaning to do this tag this summer ever since my friend Lucie @ Of Wishes and Pages did it but time went by and I had to wait. Well, now is the time!

I love the Mamma Mia movies with all my heart but since I saw the first one quite late I have to say that the second one has a bigger place in my heart. As it deals with grief and family it really helped me as I lost my grand-mother three months ago and it has been the hardest thing I have ever had to live. I cried every time I watched Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and have been obsessed with the young cast, and still am. It made sense that I would have to do the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again Book Tag, originally created by Ashley @ Ashleyoutpaged.

When I Kissed the Teacher | Name a book with a shocking plot twist

thebookwormofnotredame.png

Having been a reader for most of my life, I have came accross many shocking plot twists. If I had to choose just one though, I would have to go with the last book that truly shocked me and left me sobbing for hours: Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. Ever since it came out people have been going crazy over this “plot twist” and I do understand why. Everything was somehow going well before it all went to hell, and it has been a very hard thing to read. I could feel the tension and the despair of every character. It was amazing, of course, but also quite difficult to read.

Waterloo | Name a book you’re positive you’ll be in love with

thebookwormofnotredame (1).png

For this one I had to go with an author that can never do me wrong, Marissa Meyer and Archenemies. This book is the sequel to Renegades which is one of my favourite reads of 2018 and knowing Marissa Meyer I know she’ll write something fantastic. I can’t wait to be reunited with Nova and Adrian, I have been missing them way too much!

Why Did It Have To Be Me | Name a book you went to to get over a reading slump

thebookwormofnotredame (3).png

This summer I have been in quite a slump once again, which usually happens every year, and I’m not completely out of it yet. However, I decided during August to kick it out and picked up many The Amazing Spider-Man comic books. It made me so happy and reminded me why I used to love comics so much. Also, reading shorter books really help getting over reading slumps as it makes you feel proud of all that you read in such a short time.

I Have a Dream | Name a book character that inspires you

thebookwormofnotredame (4).png

Tons of characters inspire me every day but as I had to narrow it down to one, I decided to go with Cath from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. She does look like me and I already said it times and times again so I won’t elaborate on why (so you won’t get bored of me) but she also inspires me and reminds me that we can all heal and go better. Seeing someone so similar to me going through such hard times really helps me see that I can do it too and that it’ll get better eventually someday.

Andante, Andante | Name your current read

thebookwormofnotredame (5).png

Right now I am reading Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings. I’m not sure if I will love it, I wasn’t a fan of the novella it used to be, but I wanted to support Sasha as I have been watching her videos for years and met her at YALC this year. Hopefully it won’t be as bad as I keep hearing everywhere and I’ll still see some good to it. Fingers crossed and yes please, take it easy with me

Knowing Me, Knowing You | Name a book you had to break up with and DNF

thebookwormofnotredame (6).png

The Deal by Elle Kennedy and I had to break up and it was 100% the book’s fault, not mine. I am sorry if anyone here loved it but The Deal is the reason why I don’t read romance anymore: It was full of sexist comments, racist ones even and overall it was just ignorant. I had to stop at page 100 before I would go crazy and throw it out of the window. This time we’re really through indeed…

Mamma Mia | Name a book you recently read again

thebookwormofnotredame (7).png

This will be a surprised for no one but like tons of people I read Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling on September 1st. As always it was an amazing experience and it felt so good to be back home at Hogwarts. I even re-read it in French this time and it really felt as if I was a child once again, discovering this world for the very first time.

Dancing Queen | Name a book that made you want to dance around the room

thebookwormofnotredame (8).png

As soon as I read this I knew I had to go with I Was Born For This by Alice Oseman and The Brightsiders by Jen Wilde. Both of them are very similar as they both talk about bands, they both have a lead transgender character and they are both amazing. The second one is way happier than the first one though, but they both made me happy and made me want to dance around my room all night long.

Super Trouper | Name a series you haven’t finished due to its intimidating size

thebookwormofnotredame (9).png

I’m not really intimidated by any series because I actually love it when one has tons of books in it. Although I am considering never finishing the Falling Kingdoms series and the Outlander one. Both of them really disappointed me in the past and I find it hard to get back to it, especially when I know that they won’t get better at all. Maybe one day I’ll have nothing left to read and will decide to go back to it, maybe…

Well, here we are! If you want to do it, feel free to consider yourself tagged. You also can answer to some of the questions in the comments or just tell me if you agree with anything I just said!

Who else loves Mamma Mia! here? I am still obsessed with the second movie but everyone seems to have forgot about it or stopped talking about it!

Love always,

Clara

  1. I’m definitely going to do this tag! And I love Mamma Mia! I was really disappointed when I heard that my grandma disliked the first one because it’s a musical. Mamma Mia is just such a feel good movie! 💜

      1. Really?! We used to watch it every summer and my parents would dance across the room. My mom grew up on ABBA so it became a tradition in our family for a while until we sadly abandoned it 😭
